Eden Project, Cornwall - 2003
Temporary installation, willow and hops, sunflowers, lavender, hemp, flax and wheat
427cm long x 6
This work came from the inspiration of using Eden’s own local resources. These include the cut crops grown on site, which have been combined with willow from the Somerset Levels, to create sculptural forms that deliberately change perspective as the viewer moves around them. The application of local resources is a common theme in Serena’s work and the outcomes tend to be a reflection of their situation. The crop sculptures follow the curves of Eden’s striking outside landscape and are an expression of space, rhythm and movement.
